with Peterson Lip Bit
Charles Peterson, who was born in Latvia, worked as a pipe maker in the meerschaum factory of Friedrich Kapp, who emigrated from Nuremberg and ran a renowned tobacco boutique on Grafton Street in Dublin. With the invention of the Peterson Patented Pipe in 1890, Charles Peterson laid the foundation for the world fame of the Irish manufacturer, which later became Kapp & Peterson.
By drilling an additional chamber below the smoke channel, the smoking pleasure was revolutionized. On the one hand, moisture and condensate could collect in this reservoir, on the other hand, the smoke could swirl and thus cool down.
Peterson received the second patent for the invention of the no less famous lip bite (PL - Peterson Lip). Here the smoke is directed selectively into the throat area and thus protects sensitive tongues. Most Peterson pipe series are also available with a regular mouthpiece (FT - Fishtail).
